A good picture is worth more than a thousand words

I desire to embed this as amazing as massive infographic because it gives a clear idea of the enormous ammount of trash and waste that just a small percentage of human population (in this case the american one) can produce, compared to the benefits and opportunities of recycle.
Enjoy it :-)

  1. I'm really impressed by these information.. I agree with the purpose of this chart. If only each of us would be more responsible by adopting a more sustainable lifestyle, probably we would have the chance to live in a better world.

  3. The recycling of waste that permits reuse of the materials contained in the waste of urban or industrial sector is crucial to increase development that is sustainable, recycling, also, together with the reduction of waste, recycling and reuse, contributes in a decisive way to saving energy and reducing emissions of pollutants and greenhouse. Is therefore crucial to take care of the world in which we live. We have to work a lot to put in place a process of change in which the exploitation of resources, the direction of investments, the orientation of technological development and institutional change are made consistent with the needs of the future generations and for ourselves.
I think it is particularly important to raise awareness among governments and civil societies around the world towards a more equitable and respectful of the planet's resources. Important in this regard it is education through information campaigns, media messages and an active role of governments.

  4. I think it is amazing that we can recycle almost everything, and we just need to put every thing in the right place = ) When we recycle we are preparing the world for the future, we are saving the world for the other ... It is a kind of agreement between generations and that is why is important. There will be no world to live if we keep living in the way we are doing. Recycling is just a start to make things work better.

  5. In order to make a comparison between USA and Europe, I have looked for some reports about recycling in the EU and I am really impressed because I have found that, according to the study “The Eco-efficient recycling”, made by the Institute of Environment research “Ambiente Italia”, Italy is leader in Europe, after Germany, for and its recycle.
With 33 million tons of recovered materials, Italy has avoided 53 million tons of CO2 emissions in 2010, that is to say 10% of total emissions which the country is responsible in a year.
I remember when my village has introduced the practice of the separate collection of rubbish in 2000, with a “porta a porta” system. It was a kind of revolution for us, also because there weren’t a lot of villages near us that they have already chosen the same system too.
But I think it had been a far-seeing idea, that has developped our "green spirit" and our civism.
